In 1989, Steaua Bucharest reached their second Champions League (or European Champions Cup as it was called then) in the club's history but lost to an unstoppable AC Milan squad who would go on to dominate European club football for a number of years. The Romanians had a stellar team, too, with names like Hagi, Petrescu, Ungureanu, Rotariu or Silviu Lung. The latter, goalkeeper of the Romanian National team in 1990 at the World Cup in Italy, played an integral part in Steaua's campaign to the final in 1989 and wore a shirt exactly like this one here (bar the crest and that iconic Ford sponsor on the chest). Quite a remarkable piece of history, don't you say?
